Actor Troy Garity dropped by CBS Sports Radio on Wednesday to discuss his career, including his hit show “Ballers.” The show stars several high-profile actors, none bigger than Dwayne Johnson, who plays Spencer Strasmore.
Garity has loved working with The Rock.
“You meet Dwayne and within a minute, you realize why he’s so successful,” Garity said on Gio and Jones. “It’s his attitude. Nevermind the fact that his bicep looks like it has a baby in it. He’s got genuinely a winning attitude. I know it sounds cliche, but it’s the truth. He shows up on set, you never hear a complaint, he never yawns, he never raises his voice, he’s just prepared and ready to go – and that’s sort of an unspoken statement on set that everybody follows. We have a real good time.”
Season 2 begins Sunday at 10 p.m. ET on HBO and will feature a special guest appearance by Terrell Suggs, who also appeared in Season 1.
“I have to tell you Terrell can act,” Garity said. “He brings it. Him and Dwayne, they share some passionate moments on screen. The first episode begins. We see that Dwayne’s financial-management company has become successful, which brings out adversaries. We meet Andy Garcia, who has his own financial management company, and I talk Dwayne into going to war with Andy, and all sorts of problems and violence ensue from there.”
