After putting a curse on James Harden last postseason, Lil B has apparently put a curse on Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Lil B tweeted on Monday that “the thunder will not be beating the Warriors” and that “Durant is still cursed.”
A few hours later, Durant scored 26 points in a 108-102 road win over Golden State in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. Lil B phoned into CBS Sports Radio on Tuesday to tell listeners that the Thunder will still lose the series.
“I don’t want anybody to lose,” Lil B said on Gio and Jones. “I’m not against Kevin Durant. I’m not like, ‘Yes, he’s losing.’ That’s not the thing. When he’s playing hard and these guys are playing hard, it’s about who’s playing the best basketball.”
On Monday, that was Oklahoma City.
The Thunder trailed 60-47 at halftime but outscored the Warriors by 19 in the second half. Durant shot just 10-of-30 from the field but hit a clutch 17-foot jumper with 30.7 second to go to essentially ice the game. Russell Westbrook, meanwhile, scored 24 of his 27 points in the second half and finished with a game-high 12 assists.
“The Thunder, they’re not a pushover team,” Lil B said. “This is going to be an exciting series, but once again it’s going to be the Warriors.”
Game 2 is Wednesday at ORACLE at 9 p.m. ET.
